In a survey we conducted back in October 2019, we asked 600 smokers if they were interested in quitting smoking. Surprisingly, even the most dedicated smokers admitted they wanted to give it up.
We discovered that many prefer to quit someday, not right now. It seems we reach a point where we feel we don't have enough willpower, or we think life wouldn't be as enjoyable without cigarettes.
It's puzzling why quitting smoking seems so difficult. Many start smoking due to peer pressure, despite most smokers regretting their decision to start.
As teenagers, we saw smoking as something cool, but as adults, we try to quit and advise young people against starting. Imagine, a person who smokes 20 cigarettes a day in the US has to decide whether to smoke or not 20 times each day.
It's as if we're throwing our money away, but worse, we're harming our bodies with every cigarette. Our bodies get tired and don't work as well because they're not getting enough oxygen.
We end up with bad breath, yellow teeth, and always feeling tired - like we're trapped. Most of the time, we can't smoke and just wait for the next chance to light up.
Some call smoking a hobby, but is it really a hobby if you wish you didn't do it? Smoking often makes us feel like outsiders.
We suffer from shortness of breath and chest pains and feel out of place among non-smokers. What do we gain from it? Surely not happiness or calmness.
It's often said that quitting smoking is incredibly hard. But is it? Smokers spend their whole lives wondering why they can't quit.
The truth is, nicotine withdrawal is actually quite mild. Many smokers don't realize they are addicted because the symptoms are not so severe.
Don't just believe what we say; if you try breathing through your nose after smoking, your body will show you that smoke is harmful. And really, no smoker truly enjoys the taste of cigarettes.
So, are you ready to leave smoking behind and quit for good? Get your Lio today.
